In the actual teaching of high school English,vocabulary teaching plays an important and irreplaceable role.However,there are still a considerable number of teachers in our country who still have not given enough concentration on vocabulary teaching,or lack suitable teaching methods,especially in the review stage of senior high school.The status quo is even more worrying.To explore and solve this problem,the author conducted a research on English vocabulary teaching based on the scaffolding teaching method in the review stage of senior three.This research adopts investigation method,observation method and experiment method and involves many considerations.The author conducted a two-month experiment on the two classes of Datong No.3 Middle School taught by the author.The investigation verified that the scaffolding teaching method compared with the traditional vocabulary teaching method improved students’ English learning ability,learning strategies and learning habits.The result shows that the scaffolding teaching method has indispensable advantages in the vocabulary teaching of the senior English review stage.This research provides highly effective suggestions for the vocabulary teaching in the English review stage of senior three in the upcoming future,which is of great significance.This research reflects the characteristics of the times and cultivates students’ learning abilities with a new perspective.At the same time,it collects the weak points of the freshman students of Datong University in learning English as the support of necessity,which is very innovative.
