Study On The Image Of Female Characters In HSK Standard Course

This thesis analyzes the image of female characters in HSK Standard Course,in terms of average speech wheel,names of female characters,the relationship of characters,main topics,characteristics and so on,by means of analysis,comparison and case study.In this thesis,the image of female characters in HSK Standard Course is mainly positive,showing the lively,generous and civilized character characteristics of Chinese women.Female characters have a certain advantage in terms of average number of speech wheels and average number of sentences.HSK Standard Course has shaped a number of featured female characters who are lively,cheerfully,caring for the family,and have a wide range of hobbies.However,there are some shortcomings in the character designing of the female characters in HSK Standard Course,including the limited number of female characters,lack of character introduction and designing of character names,insufficient design of character topics,simplification of characteristics and the resulting stereotypes.In view of these five shortcomings and the valuable suggestions of the interviewees in the case study,I put forward some ideas on the design of female roles in Chinese teaching materials,hoping that the materials can have more reasonable and attractive female roles,so that Chinese teaching materials can convey the concept of gender equality in the field of international Mandarin education.
