Analysis Of Zhang Zhao’s Ballad Performance

The piano work " Ballade" is an adaptation of the theme melody of Li Zhaofu’s song "Singing Cowherd Er Xiao",composed by Zhang Chao in a strong Chinese music style.This article is mainly divided into two parts to elaborate:Part 1,brief overview of Zhang Chao’s piano "Ballade".Part 2,as the research focus of this paper,analyzes the harmony and polyphonic,texture,tempo,pedal and other aspects covered in the work from the three aspects of the performance of the melody of folk songs and the "colouring" of the work and analysis of performance points.It is hoped that the author’s analysis of the theoretical and practical experience of Zhang Chao’s piano work " Ballade" will provide some research and reference for subsequent performers.
