Yimeng Mountain,a large-scale Chinese national opera,is an innovative revolutionary opera in the 21st century.It is a perfect combination of Chinese opera and western opera.The musical materials used in the opera are rich.In addition to Yimeng Mountain Tune which runs through the whole play,the melodies also include shandong folk songs such as Driving the Cow Mountain,Fengyang Drum,Yimeng Mountain of My Hometown and Everyone Says My Hometown is Good.The accompaniment of the band also adds a lot of ethnic instrumental music,bringing the audience a different auditory feast.Besides,the Aria Yimeng’s Daughter uses the structure of plank cavity,tight and slow singing,as well as the use of recitation and dialogue,which embodies the innovation of the opera.According to the background of the real story in Yimeng mountain,the creators endue the full characters in the drama to show the great strength of the army and people in all aspects.This paper studies from four aspects:first,the creation background and plot development of Yimeng Mountain.The second is to analyze the female character Xia he from both character image and music element.The third,Xia He’s three classical arias Yimeng’s Daughter,Blood,Tears And Milk,Where is Such a Feeling in the World are analyzed from three aspects:the characteristics of the arias,the form structure and the emotion.Finally,it analyzes the creative beauty of yimeng Mountain,and discusses from three aspects:the innovation of stage design,the unique beauty of music creation and the emotional beauty of characters in the opera.So that more people can come into this opera,understand the connotation of this opera,experience the yimeng spirit.
