Research On The Transformation Of Urban Meaningless Space In The Context Of "Space Fixity"

Since the reform and opening up,the process of industrialization and urbanization in China has been advancing rapidly.The contradiction between people’s growing needs for a better life and the imbalance and insufficiency of spatial resources allocation has become the main reason for the urban space problems in China.China uses David Harvey’s "three cycles of capital" theory and "space fixity" theory for reference,and carries out practice according to the national conditions.Although this contradiction has been effectively alleviated in the early stage,it is aggravated in the later stage due to the inferior nature of capital and the "acclimatization" of space fixity,which leads to more serious,complex and diverse urban space problems in China.For more than 40 years,urban "wilderness" space,"bare land" or "pure land" which is easy to arrange are highly scarce,while "meaningless space" produced by the development of black industrialization is accumulating in large quantities.How to transform urban meaningless space has become the focus of government and academia.The basic reason for the formation of meaningless space in China’s cities is that the capital ignores the space without clear development value,and the serious problem of urban space is the realistic reason for the formation of meaningless space in China’s cities.In this context,taking capital as the starting point,this paper defines urban meaningless space: urban space which has no clear development value and is ignored by capital in the process of industrialization and urbanization.Under the support of this meaning,based on Hegel’s contradictory concept and Zhuangzi’s "useless use" theory,this paper systematically discusses the transformation of urban meaningless space.On this basis,the process of meaningless space transformation is studied,that is,meaningless space is transformed into zero space through classified governance,and then zero space is transformed into meaningful space through space fixity.In the new era,the transformation of urban meaningless space can play a huge role,show infinite potential,radiate new vitality,and reflect new values,that is,discipline capital serves for the production of socialist space,construct the justice of urban space with Chinese characteristics,and construct the ecological justice of urban space with Chinese characteristics.
