Writing teaching is an important component of English teaching in junior high schools.But practically,there are some problems in writing teaching.Firstly,some teachers think writing teaching is not significant and writing class is not important.Secondly,reciting and writing are still the main methods in English writing teaching for some teachers.So the students do not want to write and do not know how to write compositions in English.The thesis tries to use interactive method in English writing teaching to solve this problem.Interactive teaching method refers to the overall dynamic process during which with inspiring teaching principles as the guidance,the teacher is the guide and students are the center in class.The two processes of the teacher’s teaching and students’ learning interact with and promote each other.The teaching method focuses on cultivating students’ autonomy in learning and innovation ability.It treats the teaching as the emotional exchanges between the teacher and students.Students study,communicate and summarize under the teacher’s organization according to the requirements of the teaching plan.The teacher answers the questions and solves the problems.The thesis selects 97 students as the subjects who are from two parallel classes of Grade Seven in a public junior high school in Dong’e County,Liaocheng City.The subjects are divided into an experimental class and a control class.The experimental class has 49 students and the control class has 48 students.The author adopts the interactive teaching method in the experimental class but adopts the traditional teaching method in the control class.Meanwhile,the author collects the data of the two classes through the quantitative and the qualitative methods.By analyzing the data,the thesis aims to answer the two questions: 1.What influence does the interactive teaching method have on students’ given English writing motivation? 2.What influence does the interactive teaching method have on students’ given English writing ability? The 16-week teaching experiment offers the answers.Students’ post-test scores of English writing are generally improved especially in writing content,language,organization and personal thought expression.In terms of writing motivation,the interview result indicates that students’ writing motivations change greatly.The experimental result shows that interactive teaching method has a positive influence on students’ English writing.The experiment has the following implications and significance.Implications: To use the interactive teaching method,the teachers should have deep professional knowledge and wide subject knowledge.The teachers should balance the guiding role of teachers and the dominant learning positions of students in class.The teachers should help students build up self-confidence and increase their interests in learning.Significance: It provides writing teaching experience for English teachers.It is helpful for my school’s practical research of English writing teaching. |
