The author found that such problems as weak English foundation and high pressure on English learning lead to a series of negative behaviors of three-year college students who are tired of English learning.At present,research of learning burnout mainly focuses on the phenomenon of learning burnout and how to alleviate it.However,there are relatively few researches on the important influencing factors of learning burnout,such as learning motivation and self-efficacy.Therefore,this research seeks to explore how they affect three-year college students’ English learning burnout from the perspective of learning motivation and self-efficacy,in order to alleviate the situation of three-year college students’ English learning burnout to some extent.The questionnaire and unstructured interview are used to investigate 292 three-year college students from the School of Applied Technology of Xihua University and 10 of them are interviewed.The study aims to explore the following questions: 1)What is the status quo of English learning burnout,learning motivation and learning self-efficacy of three-year college students? 2)How do three-year college students’ learning motivation and learning self-efficacy influence learning burnout? 3)Is there a mediation effect of self-efficacy between learning motivation and learning burnout?In this study,300 copies of the questionnaire were distributed on the platform of Wen Juan Xing,and 292 valid questionnaires were collected.The SPSS24.0 software and SPSSAU platform were mainly used to conduct empirical analysis on the valid data.By analyzing the results from questionnaire and interview,the results suggest that: 1)The status quo of English learning burnout of three-year college students and each dimension are in the middle lower level.The status quo of learning motivation of three-year college students and each dimension are at the middle level.The status quo of self-efficacy of three-year college students and each dimension are at the upper middle level.2)The learning motivation,learning self-efficacy and learning burnout of three-year college students are related to each other.Among them,there is a moderately negative correlation between learning motivation and learning burnout.There is a significantly negative correlation between self-efficacy and learning burnout,and a moderately positive correlation between learning motivation and self-efficacy.3)The self-efficacy of three-year college students plays a complete mediation effect between learning motivation and learning burnout.The research results enrich the connotation and extension of the three variables of learning burnout,learning motivation and learning self-efficacy.At the same time,it also broadens the research field of learning burnout,which can provide a certain reference for future researchers.Aiming at the specific situation of three-year college students’ English learning burnout in the School of Applied Technology of Xihua University,this research proposes suggestions from two aspects: stimulating and maintaining three-year college students’ learning motivation and learning self-efficacy,which alleviate students’ English learning burnout,and help students improve their English performance.Finally,the author elaborated on the shortcomings of this research and the prospects for follow-up research.
