Research On Mulan’s Painting Image

This paper,takes Liu Danzhai’s comic book “Mulan Joining the Army” as an example,focuses on the image of Mulan from four aspects.The first part retrospects Mulan’s birthplace、military experience、surname and character ending;the second part sorts out the painting of Mulan in the history of Chinese painting;the third part grasps the main figure characteristics from posture,makeup,movements and clothing of Mulan in "Mulan Joining the Army",and trying to analyze the aesthetic fashion carried by Mulan’s image;the fourth part interprets different era thoughts through the analysis of social backgrounds in different periods,and shows the different requirements of the heroines in Mulan’s paintings and the different "female beauty" that the heroines called in each historical period.In short,through the study of Mulan’s painting image,we think that the figure of Mulan in Liu Danzhai’s "Mulan joins the army" exceeds the weakness of Ming and Qing Dynasties,and returns to the early female body.In the aspect of make-up,it not only inherits the techniques of Ming and Qing Dynasties,but also combines the reality of contemporary people’s vision,and adds the understanding of modern human anatomy.In terms of action,compared with the previous works depicting Mulan,Liu Danzhai’s Mulan image has more abundant actions,which fits the modern people’s life and aesthetic habits.In terms of clothing,it broke the restrictions of dynasties,combined with the aesthetic needs of the general public,making the picture more decorative and dramatic.From the heroines called by each era,the remolding of Mulan’s female virtue in each period,and the different "female beauty" publicized by Mulan in each period,we can deeply understand that when foreign enemies invaded the society,the propaganda of heroines would appear in large numbers.Under the special historical conditions,in the face of the fate and test of the country and nation,women are required to bear the responsibility of the times that men should bear.And the different female beauty of morbid or "man" in some paintings of different periods,can also feel the great and irresistible force of social and cultural construction.
