A Study Of The Evolution Of Stories Of Li Ling And Su Wu Before Song Dynasty

The stories of Li Ling and Su Wu began with the Records of the Grand Historian and the The History of the Han Dynasty,and were composed by different people in different generations,resulting in different versions,with genres such as historical records,prose poem,letters,poems,argumentation,and pien-wen.In this paper,we adopt the method of evolution research of the story,combing four aspects of the stories of Li Ling and Su Wu before the Song Dynasty: historical records,the works of Su and Li in the Wenxuan,literary creations,and the written at Dun Huang.The study finds that almost all of the later works were adapted from the The History of the Han Dynasty,the poems and letters written by Li Ling and Su Wu in the Wenxuan extended the parting scene of Li Ling and Su Wu through imagination,which was an important transition from historical records to literary creations.The three accounts of Li Ling and Su Wu preserved at Dunhuang show three different perspectives and stories of Li Su’s confrontation,Li Su’s farewell,and Li Ling’s courageous battle,which are also related to their different writing backgrounds,creators’ identities,and creative purposes.This is also related to the different backgrounds,identities and purposes of the creators.
