The category of service is an important part of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.As the causative words,the words "jiao","rang" and "gei" have unique and important positions in the category of service.Because of their oral and life-oriented characteristics,they are used frequently in oral English,so they should be valued by teachers and writers of TCFL textbooks.Because of the various meanings and complex rules of use,foreign learners will confuse the words "jiao","rang" and "gei" in their study.This paper investigates the errors of foreign learners in HSK corpus in learning these three causative words,and finds that foreign students will confuse the meaning,causative meaning and permissiveness of the causative words "jiao","rang" and "gei" in their study.Based on the analysis of these errors,this paper points out the internal and external reasons for the error: the reason of learning and the reason of teaching.Based on this,this paper makes a brief analysis of the grammaticalization process of "jiao","rang" and "give",reveals its grammaticalization path and summarizes its complex meanings.It aims to distinguish the differences between "jiao","rang" and "gei" in expressing the meaning of the order,the causative meaning and the permissive meaning,so that foreign students can understand the differences in their meanings in their study,Thus,it is more authentic and flexible when used.Finally,this paper puts forward some teaching suggestions on the causative words "jiao","rang" and "gei" and design several teaching programs which aim at the middle stage Chinese level of foreign students.
