As the best friend of Hong Sheng,Wu Yiyi’s comments and the modification of performance of "The Palace of Eternal Life" have been highly recognized by Hong Sheng.The content of his criticism has an important influence on the research of "The Palace of Eternal Life" and the history of drama criticism.This article takes Wu Yiyi’s Criticism of "The Palace of Eternal Life" as the research object,and the research scope includes Wu Yiyi’s Preface to "The Palace of Eternal Life",comments on "The Palace of Eternal Life",and deletion of "The Palace of Eternal Life".Starting from the research of Wu Yiyi’s life and his literary intercourse,arranging and analyzing the contents of Wu Yiyi’s criticism of "The Palace of Eternal Life",summarizing the characteristics of Wu Yiyi’s criticism of "The Palace of Eternal Life" and its value in the history of drama criticism through a comparative method.The full text consists of five parts.The introduction mainly elaborates the current research status of Wu Yiyi and his criticism of "The Palace of Eternal Life",analyzes the current academic research on Wu Yiyi’s life,the contents of Wu Yiyi’s comments of "The Palace of Eternal Life",and Wu Yiyi’s dramatic ideas.Summarizing the main features of existing results.The first chapter mainly discusses Wu Yiyi’s life and literary intercourse.Starting from the study of the time of Wu Yiyi’s birth and death,summarizing his life situation.From the exchanges between Wu Yiyi and his teachers,friends,three wives to observe the development and formation of his literary thoughts,exploring the relationship between Wu Yiyi’s life experience,literary thoughts and his criticism of "The Palace of Eternal Life"The second chapter analyzes the content of Wu Yiyi’s criticism of "The Palace of Eternal Life".Wu Yiyi believes that "The Palace of Eternal Life" expresses the theme of "Celebrating true love but never forgets to civilize people" through the theme processing method of "Remove obscene content and add fantasy content";In his comments,he affirmed a group of vivid,distinctive figures created by "The Palace of Eternal Life",and analyzed its delicate and subtle character creation methods;Wu Yiyi revealed the author’s rich and ingenious creative techniques through the analysis of the ingenious drama structure of "The Palace of Eternal Life",which is the focus of his criticism;At the same time,he also highly praised the elegance of language and the wonder of melody in "The Palace of Eternal Life".More importantly,Wu Yiyi paid attention to the value of the stage performance of "The Palace of Eternal Life",so he put forward his opinions on the performance scene and performance of "The Palace of Eternal Life",which is the highlight of his criticism.In chapter three,based on the analysis of the content of Wu Yiyi’s criticism of "The Palace of Eternal Life",it compares his criticism with other prefaces and postscripts of "The Palace of Eternal Life" at the same time,and discusses the biggest feature of Wu Yiyi’s criticism of "The Palace of Eternal Life" ——Critical Ideas of Drama,and under this idea,he exhibited critical features that focused on the structure of the drama and valued the characteristics of the stage.Taking drama theory as a starting point,Wu Yiyi has a flexible and changeable critical perspective when criticizing works,which is essentially different from other literati’s criticism of "The Palace of Eternal Life".In addition,Wu Yiyi was able to make value judgments on his works from the perspective of history,which made his criticism of "The Palace of Eternal Life" more comprehensive and objective.The fourth chapter puts Wu Yiyi’s criticism of "The Palace of Eternal Life" into the history of drama criticism to explore its theoretical value.By analyzing Wu Yiyi’s criticism of "The Palace of Eternal Life" on the expansion of the relationship between emotion and reason in drama thinking,representing the trend of returning from emotion to reason in drama thinking in the early Qing Dynasty.By discussing the coordination between the literati aesthetics and the citizens’ tastes in Wu Yiyi’s criticism of "The Palace of Eternal Life",the characteristics of the appreciation both elegance and vulgarity in the drama aesthetics in the early Qing Dynasty were expressed.By analyzing the fusion of the drama theory and narrative theory in Wu Yiyi’s criticism of "The Palace of Eternal Life",highlight the comprehensive development trend of drama criticism in the early Qing Dynasty.
