Richard Strauss(1864-1949)is one of the most important composers and conductors at the turn of the 19 th century and the 20 th century. He is also a representative of late romantic composers. In 1896,he wrote his symphonic poem "Also Sprach Zarathustra" as a fusion of his philosophical spirit and superb musical skills. This is not only the most representative of his series of symphonic poems, but also his most well-known philosophical symphonic poem.Although the word "texture" is widely used in the theoretical system of composition and composition technology,it has not been taught in detail in the process of basic teaching. In the theory of composition technology, orchestration is divided into two parts: instrument method and orchestration writing, and the essence of orchestration writing is texture writing. At present, most of the existing analysis of "Also Sprach Zarathustra" focuses on the philosophical significance, and there is little research on music noumenon. This paper makes a detailed analysis of the form structure(including statement structure, theme and theme material, mode and tonality)and texture type(including different texture classification methods and results)of this symphony poem, and then compares it with the same type works of composers in the same period and the same type works of composers in different periods,so as to summarize the special form structure, style and style of this symphony poem The excellent composition of texture structure provides a reference for the study of Richard Strauss’ writing characteristics and the exploration of the development and evolution of symphonic poetry.
