| Through literature review,it is found that there are a large number of English-Chinese translation practices of tourism related texts in China, but there are few public translation practices in the field of medical tourism. Most of Chinese literature on medical tourism is the summary of Western literature by tourism industry scholars, and there is almost no direct Chinese translation of medical tourism works. In view of this, the translator takes Medical tourism and Wellness: Hospitality Bridge Healthcare, written by Frederick J.De Micco,an American scholar,as the source text of this translation practice. The selected translation part is the preface of the original book and the introduction of the whole book and it adopts functionalist teleology as the theoretical guidance. This translation practice report is divided into four parts. From the perspective of words, sentences and texts, this paper presents the practical application of Skopos theory,as well as the translator’s analysis of relevant translation difficulties, translation strategies and translation methods, and summarizes the experience gained in translation practice and the shortcomings of this translation project.Under the guidance of Functionalist Skopos theory, this kind of translation with interdisciplinary content can be added. The three principles of Skopos theory can be implemented in the whole process of translation practice for in-depth discussion and research,so as to enrich the English-Chinese translation practice of medical tourism texts and provide constructive reference for such translation projects. |
