| The localization of Chinese teaching materials has always been a hot topic in international Chinese teaching. With the increase in the number of Chinese learners in the world,Chinese learners in different countries or regions have different requirements for Chinese textbooks, and only one set of Chinese textbooks cannot meet their needs. Therefore, this article takes the Thai version of the widely used textbook "Happy Chinese" as the object, and analyzes the textbook from six aspects: "teaching object","topic content","annotation language","local vocabulary","grammatical point" and "cultural point".The study found that "Happy Chinese" embodies three advantages, namely: first, the textbook is practical;second,it is annotated in Thai;and third, the textbook is interesting. At the same time, there are some shortcomings, such as: First, the introduction of cultural points is not comprehensive, mainly about Chinese culture, and very little introduction of Thai culture;Second,it is not well integrated with the Thai education system, which is specifically reflected in the teaching materials. The teaching hours do not match the teaching hours of Thai Chinese courses in actual teaching.Based on the analysis of localization, this article puts forward four suggestions on the localization of Chinese textbooks. They are: first, increase the contrast between Chinese and Thai culture;second, increase the local Thai vocabulary;third, reduce the capacity of teaching materials;fourth, strengthen the cooperation between China and Thailand. It is hoped that it will not only play a positive role in the research and study of the localization of Chinese textbooks in Thailand, but also provide ideas for the localization of Chinese textbooks in other countries or regions,so as to contribute to the promotion of the development of Chinese international education. |
