In recent years,the Chinese film market frequently introduces Indian films,the box office is astonishing,the response is huge.It is not difficult to find that with the acceleration of globalization and the rapid spread of feminism around the world,India’s sense of affirmative power gradually rises.Indian films also pay more and more attention to the issue of women,showing us the image of Indian women with very different styles,which provides a platform for women to pursue equal status and rights.This paper focuses on the construction of female images in Indian films,classifies the female images in Indian films,and probes into the construction of female images in Indian films with the support of semiotics and other theories,in order to find out how to construct the female images in Indian films.The creative characteristics and bottlenecks of the Indian film in the construction of the female image are the inspiration of the Indian film to the development of Chinese woman’s films.This paper is divided into six parts.The first part,introduction.This paper mainly expounds the selection of the subject,the research value,the review and evaluation of the existing literature,and puts forward the main research method and its task,and provides the logical starting point of the research.The second part is an overview of Indian films.First of all,to sort out the development of Indian films,secondly,to analyze the reasons and characteristics of the development of women in Indian films.The third part is the analysis of the female characters in Indian films.In this part,the author divides the female image of Indian film into three types: the victim of the society,the new woman who pursues freedom and the post-modern woman,and chooses the representative film works to analyze.The fourth part,Indian contemporary film female image construction.In this part,the author uses the theory of semiotics to analyze the construction of female image in contemporary Indian films,from the three dimensions of dress,behavior mode,space scene,with visual symbols and lines,dialogue,and so on,in this part,the author uses the theory of semiotics to analyze the construction of female image in contemporary Indian films.The audible symbols of movie music are discussed in two aspects.In addition,this part also discusses the limitations of the contemporary Indian films in the construction of female images,for example,some female images are trapped in the male perspective,some overturn the female images,and the narrow path to the realization of woman’s rights and interests,and so on.The fifth part,the inspiration of Indian contemporary female film to our country.In this part,the author gives a brief overview of the development of Chinese female films,discusses the enlightenment of Indian contemporary female films in China,such as paying attention to the living conditions of lower-level women,showing national pride,and so on.Further put forward our country to the female film support strategy.
