With the deepening of western learning,great changes began to take place in the society.The returned students became the leaders in a lot of circles,and they played an important role in the polity,economics,diplomacy and other fields of China.Under the background of Japanese aggression against China,the returned students also had an influence on the anti-Japanese diplomacy of the KMT government.To participants of the Lushan conversation,more than 70 percent of them had the background of overseas study.The returned students from the educational and public opinion circles of them created the pressure for the anti-Japanese diplomacy.The leaders of parties and associations who had the background of overseas study made preparations for the anti-Japanese diplomacy.The "Anglo-American Group" returned students added motivation for the anti-Japanese diplomacy.Eventually,the anti-Japanese diplomacy was implemented through the choice of the KMT government leaders with the background of overseas study.It is undeniable that some overseas students acted as traitors in the important juncture of the historical development,such as the“Pro-Japanese Group” with Wang Jingwei,Chen Jintao and Zhou Fohai.Overall,the returned students who attended the Lushan conversation played a leading role in the anti-Japanese diplomacy.In addition to the balance of objective interests,the choice of the returned students also had some common ground in the anti-Japanese.Firstly,they were more eager to choose the values of freedom,democracy and equality.Secondly,the difficult overseas study experience strengthened their patriotism.Finally,the profound international vision and vast international perspective increased their confidence to the choice of anti-Japanese.
