| Of all disciplines,English is one of the most vital subjects in senior high school,which occupies a crucial proportion in the college entrance examination,and writing is the most significant manifestation of English that is the comprehensive use of languages.Especially in recent years,the score of college entrance examination composition has been continuously increasing,English writing teaching is particularly important.However,there are still many problems in the current English writing teaching.Therefore,it is necessary to provide an efficient English writing teaching model.In this research,the Scaffolding Instruction Model is applied to senior high school English writing teaching,which is based on Scaffolding that reduces the students’ psychological burden and improves English writing ability by using the method.The theory and practice are combined to cultivate students’ writing interest.The author believes that the most essential meaning of the Scaffolding Teaching Model is to cultivate students’ English writing ability.Therefore,the author tries to explore an English writing teaching strategy based on a Scaffolding Instruction Model.This research involves the following three questions: 1.Through Scaffolding Instruction Model,it stimulates students’ interest in English writing? 2.Can high school students cultivate effectively their English writing ability? 3.Can Scaffolding Instruction Model boost students’ confidence in English writing?The author selected 100 senior high school students in two parallel classes in a general high school in Nanchang City,Jiangxi Province as experimental objects for four-month teaching experiment,including 50 in the experimental class and 50 in the control class.During the experiment,the experimental class made use of Scaffolding Instruction Model of English writing teaching,while the control class employed the traditional English writing teaching method.The author put to use mixed-research method including quantitative and qualitative analysis,and the main research method is experiment,whose data comes from students’ questionnaire surveys,pre-test and post-test writing scores,and interview methods to study whether students who use scaffolding teaching model can improve students’ writing interest and writing ability in English writing teaching.After the experiment,the authors used SPSS 22.0software to analyze and process the data,and draw conclusions.Finally,after nearly four months of Scaffolding Instruction Model,the author found that more students were interested in English writing by using scaffolding teaching experiments.However,students have little interest in English writing teaching by using traditional teaching methods.In addition,through the analysis and processing of pre-test and post-test,the author found that Scaffolding Instruction Model can effectively boost students’ English writing interest,writing ability and writing confidence.To sum up,through the application of Scaffolding Instruction Model to research and analyze,and the author concluded that Scaffolding Instruction Model can stimulate students’ English writing interest,writing ability and writing confidence in high school English teaching,especially writing teaching. |
