Study On The Development Of The Association Of Chinese-Filipino Schools In The Philippines

With the strengthening of Sino-Philippine economic and trade relations,the practical value of Chinese language has been greatly enhanced,which gives rise to the increasing demand for Chinese language talents in the Philippines.Therefore,Chinese education in Philippines has achieved new development in the 21st century.For many years,the Chinese education community in the Philippines has been responsible for inheriting Chinese culture and has played a positive role in promoting the development of Chinese education in the country.The Chinese education community in the Philippines has always attached great importance to the cultivation of local Chinese teachers and the cooperation of Chinese schools.Based on this,the Association of Chinese-Filipino Schools in the Philippines(ACFSP)emerged as the times require.Since its establishment in 1993,the ACFSP has been committed to developing local Chinese education and protecting the welfare of Chinese school teachers,which has a certain influence in the local area.This paper takes the Association of Chinese-Filipino Schools in the Philippines as the research object.By sorting out the ACFSP’s background and development history,studying its organization structuring and activities,this research is supposed to help people understand the ACFSP’s social functions of promoting the development of Chinese education in the Philippines,inheriting Chinese culture,protecting the welfare of teachers and strengthening Chinese-school cooperation.It aims to promote the further development of Chinese education in the Philippines and to provide references for the construction of other overseas Chinese education organizations.In the investigation,the author found that during the development of ACFSP,there are still have some problems such as immature construction,lack of reform awareness and insufficient organization activities.Based on the current development of Chinese schools and the comparison between the ACFSP and other Chinese organizations,this paper proposes that in the new era,the ACFSP should actively improve its own construction,require multi-cooperation,promote Chinese culture and Chinese educational development,make it a Chinese education institution capable of shouldering the lead in the development of Chinese education in the Philippines.
