Research On Chinese Anti-corruption TV Series

Since the broadcast of "God is Watching" in 1995,China’s anti-corruption TV series has begun to enter the audience’s sight with a new attitude,opening up a development course of more than 20 years.As a main theme TV drama that reflects the reality,service political needs,and conveys humanistic concepts,the rise and fall of anti-corruption TV series largely reflects the environmental changes and ideological changes of the nation and society.This is not only the advantage that anti-corruption TV series rely on,but the limitation of its development.But how to achieve the balance and unity of ideological and artistic nature is the core issue of whether anti-corruption drama can achieve long-term development.The popular anti-corruption masterpiece “ The Name of the People”,which was broadcast in 2017,opened an unprecedented “spring” for the development of anti-corruption TV series in the new era,and also provided a latest template to reflect and refer to for the development of follow-up anti-corruption TV series.Trying to begin the holistic analysis with time and space of the anti-corruption TV series,can help to fully understand the path and characteristics of the development of them,sum up the way of refining to achieve the theoretical transformation of artistic value,and ultimately dedicate in the action of giving back to practice.This paper uses the literature research method,text analysis method and case study method to systematically observe the anti-corruption TV series in China.The horizontal division is divided into four chapters: hot phenomenon,text characteristics,problems and suggestions,and case analysis,combined with the vertical development of anti-corruption TV series’ time line to carry out a detailed study from multiple perspectives.The first chapter of this thesis starts from the hot phenomenon of anti-corruption TV series,and analyzes the main realistic factors behind the hot-spot phenomenon through the retrospection of the three popular broadcasts of them.The second chapter is followed by the external and internal Inductive analysis of the characteristics of anti-corruption TV series,from the three perspectives of subject matter,narrative and video,extracts the common features in the process of creating most anti-corruption scripts,and gives targeted analysis of advantages and disadvantages;the third chapter of this paper based on this foundation,we will find out and sort out the main problems in the development of anti-corruption TV series,and propose relevant improvement suggestions combined with the current time background.Finally,in order to increase the fullness of the argument,the fourth chapter selects the latest anti-corruption TV series “The Name of the People” as an example of case study,from the narrative,themes,characters,propaganda four aspects of the innovation and breakthrough to explore and present.Through the division and connection of the four chapters,it aims to analyze and summarize the overall characteristics and situation of the anti-corruption TV series’ development process from the inside and the outside,and explore the new model of its creation,then hope to provide effective theoretical basis and practical significance for the long-term development of anti-corruption TV series in the new era,ultimately.
