The Multiple Identity In Western Modern Painting

The issue of identity runs through the whole history of art.The definition of identity in art is complex and profound.Since the beginning of the development of modern art,attention has been paid to the definition of individual identity and group identity.There is an interactive relationship between identity and artistic expression.Identity shows deeper content through art and further sublimates identity.Art can create a new identity with more life.This paper mainly discusses from three aspects.First of all,by describing the attributes of identity and the significance of artistic value,we can understand what identity is and realize its important role in artistic creation;Secondly,it analyzes the mutual influence between the two,and the influence of identity multiplicity on creation in contemporary artists’ works.As well as in the face of different individual identity and group identity,the artistic creation of the dismantling and re creation of identity,analysis and answer to the multiplicity of identity;Thirdly,contemporary artists express their works through individual identity and group identity in society.They gradually find that self is composed of independent individual and free individual,and realize the importance of self identity and individual condensing into group identity;Finally,through individual cases to understand the artist in artistic creation through race,class,nation and international perspective to express the identity problem,mining the hidden value,so that the work has more rich connotation and multi meaning interpretation space.
