| Writing plays a crucial role in the English learning as the access of language output.Feedback is a significant step in the teaching of English writing.Teachers’ feedback and peer feedback are the major methods of feedback.However,for lack of systematical methods,the existing feedback can’t really stimulate students’ enthusiasm and improve their writing to great extent.The previous researches show that the dialogue theory has been widely applied in the field of teaching,but few attentions were paid to the application of dialogue theory in writing feedback.This research attempts to explore the efficiency of writing feedback based on dialogue theory and deal with following questions:(1)Could the teachers’ feedback under the guidance of dialogue theory improve students’ writing ability?(2)What effect can the teachers’ feedback based on dialogue theory exert on the students?(3)How does the teachers’ feedback based on dialogue theory affect the students’ writing performance?To deal with the above questions,the writer carries out an experiment on two classes of a senior high school in Fuzhou.The research lasts for three months.The research includes questionnaire,pre-test,teaching procedure and post-test.According to the analysis on the collected data,and the results are drawn as follows:Firstly,teachers’ feedback based on dialogue theory can improve students’ writing ability.Most of the students hold positive attitude toward teachers’ feedback.They think it is easier to realize their problems and enrich the contents of the composition with the help of teaches’ feedback.After several rounds of dialogue between teacher and students,students can strengthen their writing ability.Secondly,teachers’ feedback based on dialogue theory can stimulate students’ enthusiasm in writing and improve their writing initiatives.Teachers’ feedback based on dialogue theory emphasize the equal communication in mindset.Summary writing emphasizes the acquisition of main idea and more attention to the structure and logicality of passage.Teachers’ feedback based on dialogue theory can construct the equal communication and instruct the teaching of summary writing.Thirdly,teachers’ feedback based on dialogue theory emphasize the equal communication.Teachers raise the questions but they do not point out the problems directly and express the doubts about the structure and logicality.Meanwhile,students are encouraged to express their ideas.After several rounds of dialogue,students and teacher have an equal dialogue on the mindset.As a result,students’ writing enthusiasm can be motivated.The results show that the feedback based on dialogue theory is effective.The equal communication and multiple rounds of dialogue can make up for the drawbacks of traditional feedback,which provides some guidance for the writing teaching in the senior high school. |
