With its unique art form and modern media,documentaries played an important role in showing people’s living conditions,life concepts,and inheriting human history and culture.In recent years,with the continuous development of modernization process,the village followed into the spotlight by its unique cultural symbols,thereby the rural documentaries have aroused a good deal concern with its new role as well.The village is no longer synonym of ruin and poorness.the village has become the emotional sustenance for those urban people,and gradually formed a unique image of the village.As well as the expression of modern rural documentaries are more than to unfold the backward countryside,and integrated more expressions of aesthetics and its artistic value.This article will take the documentary "Yuexi Huadu" as an example,from the perspective of urban people’s rural imagery,the use of video language and the contemporary definition of rural documentary.
