Susan Haack’s non-classical logic thought mainly comes from the exploration of pragmatism and metaphysics.Under the influence of Peirce and Quine’s pragmatism,Haack believes that logic is fallible and modifiable.Haack’s research on metaphysics focuses on the rationality and effectiveness of non-classical logical systems, and she advocates holistic pluralism.Susan Haack studied the problem of the connotation and extension of "logic".She argued that the formal system should be divided into formal system and logical system based on the principle of whether the formal system has been explained. She divides the logic system into classical logic and non-classical logic with the "tolerance policy".Haack believes that logic tools are ambiguous in application and interpretation. Therefore, out of the concern of logic tools for the inappropriateness of the expression of non-formal argument,Haack takes multi-valued logic and modal logic as the main research objects in the study of non-classical logic. In the study of multi-valued logic,Haack further proves that logic is integrally multi-valued on the basis of metaphysics through the description and analysis of rectangular square matrix. In the study of modal logic,Haack further explained that logic is erroneous and amendable through the solution of Quine’s problem.Susan Haack’s non-classical logic thought has a great influence on the development of logic and has made a certain contribution to the theoretical and applied research of logic. In the aspect of theoretical research,it enriches the method of logic research and the connotation of logic philosophy, and in the aspect of applied research,it expounds its application value in modern logic. However, there are some limitations in Haack’s non-classical logic thought. The definition and division of the connotation and extension of "logic" are not clear, and the discussion of metaphysics is not comprehensive enough.
