It is an important content of Chinese traditional aesthetic thought and a unique aesthetic orientation pursued by Chinese artistic spirit.Among them,"Jing" refers to artistic conception,"Xiang" refers to image,"Jing Sheng Xiang Wai" means that artistic conception comes from image and surpasses image.It is the most essential summary of the core category of Chinese traditional aesthetics "artistic conception",and also the vivid embodiment of Chinese artistic aesthetics.In the hundreds of years since oil painting was introduced into China,how to integrate with Chinese traditional culture and realize the nationalization of oil painting has been a problem that artists have been exploring for a long time.At present,Chinese oil painting creation is at the intersection of Western influence and domestic independence.In order to realize the integration of Chinese and Western oil painting creation from cultural spiritual core to technical form,we must draw nutrients from Chinese traditional culture.In this paper,the influence of the aesthetic thought of "artistic conception is born out of the image" in Chinese traditional culture on oil painting creation is studied in depth,aiming to explore how Chinese traditional aesthetic thought can give full play to its own value in enriching the theory and practice of oil painting.The main body of the paper consists of five parts.The first part is the introduction.This paper introduces the research background,purpose and significance,research status at home and abroad,as well as research methods,ideas and innovations.The second part is an overview of the aesthetic thought of "artistic conception is born out of the image".Because "artistic conception is born out of the image" is the most essential generalization of " artistic
