A Study On Women’s Life In Huizhou During The Comprehensive Anti-Japanese War

In terms of geographical region,Huizhou means Yixian County,Shexian County,Xiuning County,Qimen County,Jixi County and Wuyuan County under the jurisdiction of Huizhou Prefecture,which is commonly known as "One Government and Six Counties".In cultural sense,Huizhou culture is a representative of regional culture,reflecting the regional characteristics formed by Chinese traditional society in the regional society since the Song Dynasty.The research on the history of Huizhou women is concentrated in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,but the research achievements on Huizhou society and Huizhou women in the period of total anti-Japanese war are not many at present.As a region with strong traditional culture and customs,Huizhou can hardly be affected by the outside world due to its relatively isolated geographical environment.However,the invasion of Japanese imperialism broke the traditional Huizhou society.By investigating the living conditions of women in Huizhou during the war of all-out resistance against Japanese aggression,this paper reflects the relationship between the environment of The Times and social changes,as well as the relationship between the development of women in Huizhou during the war of all-out resistance against Japanese aggression and the national liberation movement and their own liberation movement.During the period of the Anti-Japanese War,the living conditions of women in Huizhou area can be divided into two aspects.First,under the background of national peril,women in Huizhou area should take an active part in the historical trend of national liberation movement.Second,with the ideological liberation of modern society,Huizhou area is also gradually ideological civilization,women’s life reflects the progressive nature of The Times.During this period,the Huizhou women,on the one hand,gave full play to their female power,established women’s Anti-Japanese organizations,set up women’s training classes,and carried out Anti-Japanese activities in support of the front line,including a series of activities such as recruiting cold clothes,offering money,and helping the wounded soldiers.At the same time,women’s education in Huizhou was developed on the basis of before the Anti-Japanese War,the number of women enrolled increased,and the education content was rich.In terms of marriage life,the traditional arranged old-style marriage was gradually strongly opposed by progressive women.It can be found from the newspapers and periodicals that the number of divorce notices against the old-style marriage increased during this period.Women pursued new freedom of love and marriage,and held a group wedding and simplified the modern wedding ceremony.Women can go out of the family,pursue new social trends,social open and free.Huizhou women sought their own liberation while participating in national liberation,which showed their strong sense of responsibility and pursuit of independent life under the background of Anti-Japanese War.We should not ignore the progressive nature of historical development,so there were still many problems and deficiencies in Huizhou women’s life during the period of the total anti-Japanese war.Traditional feudal ideas in Huizhou society,Huizhou women class differentiation is very obvious,the upper of the influence of the women and the old woman lack of new ideas,enjoy the traditional gentry family superiority,it is difficult to cause to think in the new social environment,also never thought from the family,the pursuit of new social ideological trend,the lower women’s restricted by economic condition,The level of knowledge and thought is still trapped in the traditional family.Only the spread of new cultural ideas can have a profound impact on a regional society,and this process needs time to explore and metamorphosis.Huizhou women in the period of the total war of resistance against Japanese aggression were able to contribute their own strength and devote themselves to the war of resistance against Japanese aggression under the situation of national peril,and improved their own quality while taking part in the war.Has progressive ideas of women’s groups,at the same time in the national liberation movement of the self consciousness is awakening,the pursuit of life goals,have the courage to break through the shackles of traditional society,dedicated to the women’s liberation movement,women in such aspects as ideological concept and social life have different degrees of change,for the traditional Huizhou society bring fresh breath.
