Reflections And Practices On Serial Oil Painting Creation Of Loneliness

Life is just like soil for artistic creation,in which the seeds of rich emotions are planted and irrigated with life experience.Creators without emotions or thoughts are little more than machines,and uncreative works are soulless.The relationship between painting and emotional expressions has long been discussed.Today,with the development of science and technology,human emotions play an important role in awakening humanity and stimulating creation.This paper was aimed at starting creation based on my emotional experience of loneliness,to face up to loneliness,accept the imperfection of life and let it grow,as only in this way would it have the strength to respect and protect life of others.First,this paper analyzed expressions of loneliness in Chinese and Western paintings,to find their connections with my loneliness and strike a chord.On this basis,with some paintings of Chinese literati as research objects,the relationship between the embodiment of loneliness and expressions in paintings was dissected,in order to dig out methods that can effectively guide my creation in practice.My creation of the Loneliness series oil paintings is thinking and practice of artistic creation based on my own experience of loneliness in real life.By now,I have experienced loneliness in the four periods of stubbornness,gloom,recovery,and introspection.Thinking about loneliness changed my psychology in two ways:shifting from attention to my small world to the care and understanding of life of others,and from cognition of my short life to feelings of eternal life in time and space.I converted such cognition and feelings into three groups of paintings.The first group describes my state of talking to myself in loneliness;the second group shows the feeling of loneliness when I was in a dream rather than in reality;the third group discusses the relationship between my experience of loneliness and pursuit of freedom in my life.
