Investigation And Research On Dragon Decoration In Buddhist Statof Northern Dynasty In Shandong

At present,the academic circle has conducted more studies on the Buddhist statue costumes in Shandong Province in the Northern and Southern Dynasties,but it lacks a comprehensive and systematic study on the dragon shape patterns.Therefore,this paper arranges and analyzed the dragon patterns in Buddhist statues in Shandong in the Northern Dynasty,in order to have a further understanding of the social life and belief in Shandong in the Northern Dynasty.Dragon decoration has very typical characteristics in the Buddhist statues of Shandong region during this period.The dragon patterns in Buddhist statues in Shandong were reviewed,and comprehensively analyzed their shape,period,communication and popularity process and cultural connotation through field investigation.According to the literature,the rise of dragon decoration in Shandong area was analyzed,and it was speculated that the social background and Buddhist development were the background of dragon decoration.In addition,the statues with the dragon decoration obtained in the field investigation were arranged,and the statistical analysis was made according to the different positions of the dragon decoration in the statue.According to the characteristics of dragon decoration in different periods,the dragon decoration is divided into three embryonic stages,mature stages and variant generalization stage,and then speculated through the comparative analysis of the evolution process of dragon decoration in different regions.Finally,through the connotation of the Chinese dragon culture and the Buddhist statues,the social situation of the Shandong region was discussed.Through the investigation,it was concluded that in the chaotic social situation of the Northern Dynasty of Buddhism,and speculated on the social life of that time.
