A Study Of Jazz Style In Shanghai Shidaiqu In 1930s And 1940s

Shanghai Shidaiqu is the beginning of Chinese pop music.In the 1930s and 1940s,jazz music from the West combined with Chinese local music to form a unique jazz style Shidaiqu.As a part of Shanghai style culture,jazz style Shidaiqu has become a unique spirit of Shanghai culture.The Golden Jazz Age in 1930s and 1940s has never disappeared.It is deeply engraved in Shanghai culture and the history of Chinese pop music.Up to now,we can still feel the haunting golden age.In this paper,jazz style Shidaiqu as the research object,by consulting the relevant historical materials,this paper studies the song statistics,score records and music ontology analysis,summarizes and tabulates the jazz style Shidaiqu works of the 1930s and 1940s,and the representative works of a total of 10 composers and singers are analyzed in musicology,including melody,harmony,form,band arrangement and so on.Finally,the historical significance and influence of j azz style Shidaiqu are summarized.Through the research,the author believes that Jazz style Shidaiqu has laid the foundation for Chinese pop music.Its four characteristics,namely,the fusion of music style,the universality of audience,the popularity of lyrics and music theme and the commodity of music,are still used by contemporary Chinese pop music;In addition,Jazz style Shidaiqu is the product of a specific historical background,which should be treated dialectically and inclusively.Most of the lyrics of Jazz style Shidaiqu contain progressive ideas,which have made positive contributions to women’s liberation,humanism and other progressive movements.Jazz style Shidaiqu is the epitome of the society in the 1930s and 1940s,It reflects the social contradictions and trends in this period.Jazz style Shidaiqu has a profound influence on the form and style of Chinese modern music and Chinese pop music.The research on jazz style Shidaiqu is an effective way to reveal the origin of Chinese pop music.The author hopes to add bricks to the research of Chinese modern music history through this study,hoping to provide new perspectives,expand new width and push forward the research of Chinese pop music history Move the new depth.At the same time,the creation experience of Jazz style Shidaiqu brings thinking and inspiration to contemporary music,which has guiding significance to the development of contemporary pop music;The study of Jazz style Shidaiqu also provides a theoretical reference for contemporary pop music creation,and has a certain enlightenment for contemporary pop music creation.
