On The Phenomenon Of Misogyny In Kawabata Yasunari’s Novels

Kawabata Yasunari(1899-1972)is a famous writer who writes about women.There are abundant female themes hidden in his novels.His attitude and views towards women can be found in his novels.This paper mainly selects Kawabata’s novels with female characters as the central characters,especially joins Kawabata Yasunari’s "palm-of-the-hand novels" series,to analyze the expression,characteristics and causes of the misogyny phenomenon in Kawabata’s novels.This paper is divided into three chapters.The first chapter is mainly based on the male protagonist in Kawabata’s novels to analyze the misogyny group images and misogyny ways in the three control groups: the professional and family identities of female characters,the body writing and mental description of female characters,and the discourse power of male characters and female characters.It reveals the phenomenon of misogyny in the selection,characterization and discourse system of female characters in Kawabata’s novels.The second chapter,based on three different dimensions,summarizes the three characteristics of misogyny in Kawabata’s novels.Taking the male as the center,this paper summarizes the two-sided characteristics of misogyny in Kawabata’s novels.Combining with the phenomenon of "misogyny" at the social level,this paper analyzes the direct characteristics of the phenomenon of "misogyny" in Kawabata’s novels.This paper analyzes the persistent characteristics of misogyny in Kawabata’s novels by referring to the different writing stages of his novels.The third chapter combines Kawabata Yasunari’s personal factors,such as his identity as a male writer,his experience of love and marriage,and his aesthetic thoughts,and from the perspective of social history,religion,philosophy,Japanese geisha culture,Bushido spirit,family and marriage culture,education culture and so on each different culture field of vision,makes every effort to explore the possible and definite causes of "misogyny" phenomenon in Kawabata’s novels and make a simple evaluation.Based on this,this paper examines the female group images in Kawabata’s novels and Yasunari Kawabata’s female attitude,redefines the female value orientation in Kawabata’s novels,and provides a reverse train of thought for female liberation.
