Character And Singing Analysis Of The Prince In The Opera Love Of Three Oranges

Procofiyev is a representative Russian composer in the 20 th century.The Love of Three Oranges is his representative opera works.Based on The Love of Three Oranges as research subject,this thesis explores the opera text,characters’ relations as well as opera music,and analyzes the personality characteristics of the prince as well as the music features of main arias.This thesis consists of three parts: introduction,body(five chapters)and conclusion.Chapter One is a brief introduction of Prokofiev,in which his life and creation are elaborated respectively.Chapter Two revolves around its creation motive,plot conception and performance experience,and analyzes the process from creation to performance.Chapter Three analyzes the plot of each act of the opera,and combs the relationship among main characters and the plot trend;Chapter Four focuses on the analysis of the personality features of the prince,from the perspective of opera plot and music theme,and analyzes the musical characteristics and singing points in the main singing segments of Prince with the combination of musical examples.the fifth chapter,I summarize the representative artistic characteristics of the opera The Love of Three Oranges.Finally,The conclusion part is to answer the questions to be solved in the study and summarize the overall research of the article.
