Blockchain,as a newly science technology, increasingly gains popularity. However, its importance and effect cannot be ever underestimated. This report is based on the last two chapter(Chapter 7 and 8)of Blockchain for Business with the implementation of CAT tool—Memo Q into this translation project. The translator completes this project by virtue of dissecting the cooperative translation project featuring in a large volume of technical terms and vocabularies,a high degree of specialization and a great difficulty of translation on the basis of overall understanding of blockchain. This translation report traces and describes problems and situations appeared in the three stages(pre-translation,dur-translation,post-translation).The practice pertains to non-literary translation and the text is relatively professional, which requires translators to give more attention to logic and professionalism as well as readability. In addition, the translator inserts the three-dimensional transformation of Eco-Translatology into the translation process and combines with post-editing translation in order to produce an accurate, fluent and natural translation. Some inspirations draw from this practical report, just as following:From the perspective of language conversion,English belongs to a synthetic language featuring in Static and impersonal characteristics, with the result that passive voice and nouns are regularly seen here. While Chinese,as an analytic language, often uses active voice and verbs in personal sentences. Therefore, the translator adopts the part-of-speech conversion and the passive-to-active approach to analyze some words and sentence voice so as to make the translation more vivid for conforming with the Chinese expression habits and “the linguistic dimension”.From the aspect of the Chinese-English cultural horizon,English emphasizes rational thinking using precise and specific words, and prefers to use synonyms. While Chinese is accustomed to perceptive thinking.Words are usually vague and connotative, and often be omitted.Accordingly, the translator adds necessary parts and deletes verbose words to make the translation more concise and idiomatic. In this way,so it is in line with the Chinese mode of thinking and “the cultural dimension”.Form the angle of the communicative effect,English is extroversive and its sentences are hypotactic and bounded by formal cohesion.Meanwhile,Chinese is implicit and its sentences are paratactic and combined by semantic coherence. Thus, the translator has to employ the method of syntactic integration and sentence reorganization to achieve the largest communicative outcome, which is in conformity with intentions of the author and “the communicative dimension”.Moreover, another three examples the translator lists here are an indirect proof of applicability and feasibility of “Three-dimensional transformations”.From this practice, the translator finds that the “Three-dimensional transformations” contributes to hold the direction and key to translation based on the implementation of CAT tools. |
