| In Jim Jamusch’s “foreigner” universe, the most important thing is not why migration and wandering happen, but the necessity of going on the road and constantly to be a “foreigner”.Such necessity comes from the realization of similarity, similarity and nothingness between one space and another, which is reflected in the identification of identity, the alienation and alienation of living experience, and the decline of living space And mobile experience. The paper will be divided into four parts. The introduction will explain the concept of “foreigner”,that is,to sort out the constant recurrence of “foreigner” as a motif in literature, film and philosophy.Of course, the author can not exhaust the motif, but can only make the literary and philosophical contents that trigger the inspiration of this paper. They make me go on the road like the characters in Jarmusch’s films. The second part of the introduction defines the “foreigner” in Jarmusch’s films, and combs the“foreigner” groups in his films in the order of creation chronology. The first chapter of this paper focuses on the identification of the alien, how the synchronous rejection of identity and body occurs, and thus the “alien” can be divided into two groups: “outsiders” and “marginal people”,analyzing their extreme restraint and rejection of the body, which reflects the strong orientalism and nihilism. In the second chapter, focusing on the survival experience of “strangers”,the author tries to stand in the position of “experience” of each character, use their eyes and bodies to“gaze” and “experience” the world, and use the phenomenological way of “survival experience” to describe “experience” as an individual and instantaneous experience. This kind of experience is embodied as the “flowing” experience used by the sociologist Sigmund Bauman in describing modernity. On this basis,it develops into the eternal “flowing” experience and the temporary “stagnant” experience.“Flowing” is the migratory body,“stagnant” is the besieged body. The third chapter, focusing on the living space of foreign people, starting from Gaston Bachelard’s poetics, explores the declining, wasteland, poetic and musical space of “foreign people” who are constantly on the road because of the loss of home and house,or Bauman’s view that in the era of globalization, all of us have become “abandoned children” of modernity. At last, the author uses the film music to cover the identification, living experience and living space of the first three chapters. It is like how the blood wrapped bone music flows in the hearing world of “strangers”,that is,how the music establishes the atmosphere of the film and the mental state of the characters. |
