| Objective: To study the effectiveness of imagery generation reaction time as an index of imagery ability. At the same time,ERP technology was used to explore the different cognitive neural mechanism of emotional mental imagery under different delayed memory conditions(working memory,long-term memory). Methods: In the first experiment, the computer version of the image generation task proposed by Palermo et al.(2016)has been used.the participants will first carry out the task of the building picture imagery, and then immediately carry out a memory task to select the original picture from a total of four pictures, including the original picture and three modified pictures,to investigate the relationship between the reaction time of the general building imagery generation and the correct rate of the post-imagery memory task.In the second experiment, through the variation of the experimental paradigm proposed by Bone et al.(2018)has been applied.Emotional imagery was generated under different delayed memory conditions of working memory and long-term memory, and the relationship between reaction time with vividness score of emotional imagery and ERP performance in different delayed memory conditions was investigated.Results:(1)Behavioral results: The results of Experiment 1 showed that there was no consistent evaluation of imagery between the reaction time of imagery generation and the correct rate of the memory task after imagery.Although there is a negative correlation between the reaction time of image generation and the correct rate of post-image memory task, there is no significant correlation. The results of Experiment 2 showed that the reaction time of imagery generation and the vividness score of imagery showed a consistent evaluation of imagery. There is a significant negative correlation between the reaction time of imagery generation and the vividness score of imagery, and this correlation exists not only in the total reaction time of imagery generation and the vividness score of imagery, but also in the six conditions. The results showed that faster imagery formation reaction was accompanied by higher imagery vividness score.(2)ERP results: ERP analysis in emotional imagery generation tasks under different delayed memory conditions showed that EPN,P3 b,LPP,P1,N170 components were found in both working memory and long-term memory, and the effects of EPN,P3 b,LPP and N170 were stronger in long-term memory than in working memory.Under the condition of working memory imagery generation, there was no significant difference in N170,EPN,P3 b and LPP components of the three emotional imagery, while P1 component had the largest amplitude for positive emotional imagery.Under the condition of long-term memory imagery generation,EPN components have larger amplitudes for positive and neutral emotional imagery than negative imagery,P3 b and LPP components have larger amplitudes for emotional imagery than neutral imagery, and P1 components have greater amplitudes for positive and negative emotional imagery than neutral imagery.Conclusions:(1)Compared with the correct rate of post-imagery memory task and the vividness score of imagery, the reaction time of imagery generation is a more stable and effective index to measure imagery ability.(2)There are significant cognitive differences in the process of emotional representation generation under different time delay memory conditions, and there is a delayed time effect in the process of emotional imagery generation.(3)In the process of mental imagery, there is an automatic positive emotional bias. |
