| As one of the four basic English learning skills,English writing plays an increasingly important role in English learning.However,many empirical researches show that many students have some problems in English writing.For example,some students are afraid of writing,have low interest in writing,and get low writing scores.How to improve students’ English writing ability is a challenge for teachers at present.In recent years,with the advent of the science and technology information age,the number of people using smartphones and other networking devices has increased dramatically.It provides a realistic foundation for flipped classroom teaching,making it possible for the flipped classroom to apply in English teaching.In 2020,the emergence of the COVID-19 epidemic made online teaching widely spread to colleges and universities all over the country.The necessity of online education makes it of great practical significance to discuss the flipped classroom teaching model.The Production-oriented Approach is a foreign language teaching theory with Chinese characteristics proposed by Professor Wen Qiufang based on the fine traditional Chinese thoughts and foreign second language acquisition theories,which can solve the existing phenomenon of separation of study and use in English teaching effectively.Considering the problems in current English writing teachers,the author thinks that teachers can combine POA and flipped classroom,apply it properly in the teaching of English writing,build a flipped classroom teaching model based on POA theory.The model will transfer the input-driven into output-driven,arousing high school students’ learning interest in English writing courses,promoting their initiative and enthusiasm in learning,thus enhancing the teaching effectiveness of English writing courses in high school.To be specific,this paper combines the POA theory and flipped classroom teaching model to apply in the teaching of English narrative writing in senior high school.It establishes the flipped classroom teaching model of English writing in senior high school based on POA theory,to explore the changes in students’ English writing attitudes,writing strategies and writing scores under this model.The research questions of this study are as follows:1.What are the effects of the flipped classroom based on POA theory on students’ attitudes towards English narrative writing?2.What are the effects of the flipped classroom based on POA theory on students’ English narrative writing strategies?3.What are the effects of flipped classroom based on POA theory on students’ English narrative writing performance?In this study,a total of 84 students in two classes of grade one in a high school in Yingkou city were taken as the research objects,respectively as experimental class and control class.And the narrative continuation was taken as the case teaching to carry out the experiment teaching for one semester.In the actual teaching of English writing,the experimental class adopts the flipped classroom teaching model based on POA theory,while the control class adopts the traditional teaching model.It is found that flipped classroom teaching model based on POA theory is feasible in English narrative writing teaching in senior high schools.This teaching model can help students form more efficient English writing strategies and improve their writing performance.At the same time,students’ English writing attitudes have also been significantly improved.Therefore,the flipped classroom based on POA theory is feasible in high school English writing teaching,and this model can provide new ideas for English writing teaching reform. |
