In his novels,Lu Yao writes about collectivism and individualism, the collective strength and warmth of the human heart, the positive attitude and strong character of the individual, and the responsibility and mission they bear,it is thought provoking for both the past and the present.Lu Yao is in an age and can not be independent of it,so his novels inevitably have certain limitations, this thesis is a study of the dualism in Lu Yao’s novels by means of literature analysis, close reading and induction. In addition to the foreword and Conclusion, this thesis is divided into three parts:In the first part, specifically analyzes the collectivism of Lu Yao’s novels, and discusses it from home-centered and village-centered perspectives. In the home-centered collectivism,in the village centered collectivism,Lu Yao shows the progressive collectivity from the production team to the village and then to the commune, shows collective strength and centripetal force. In the second part, the author explains the individualism in Lu Yao’s novels in detail, explores the extreme struggle of the sole "individual" theory and the just and reasonable self-interest struggle in the text, and expounds their respective characteristics in combination with the concrete novels. In the struggle mode of the "individual" theory, the individual is self-centered and takes personal interests as the basic moral standard, the individual adopts improper means in order to realize personal interests;Individual self-reliance,the courage to assume the responsibility of life and spirit, relying on their own hard-working hands to achieve the ideal of life.In the third part, the author dialectically appraises the value and limitation of the dualism in Lu Yao’s novels, and Lu Yao’s attitude towards and reasons for the dualism in his novels. It is against this background that Collectivism Lu Yao wrote his novels,so he has a complex dialectical attitude towards the writing of the two doctrines in his novels, this attitude is closely related to the background of the times and the writer’s independent thinking,on the basis of which this thesis dialectically evaluates the value and limitation of the two doctrines in Lu Yao’s novels. |
