Rage is not a strange emotion for modern people, but the question is,is there always resentment with rage? The German philosopher Peter Sloterdijk who continued the critical opinion of Nietzsche on resentment, created his political philosophy on Thymos for retrieve the creative power of rage. This essay will concentrate mainly on his work Rage and Time. For the first chapter, this essay introduced briefly the rage of today, the history of the theories on rage and the general situation of Sloterdijk’s political philosophy on rage. For the second chapter, this essay arranged by stages his arguments on the forms with which rage is collected and used as the resource of a non-monetary ecosystem, that is,a bank of rage. There are 3 stages, and Sloterdijk has analysed that the changes of the forms of rage banks are linked with the changes of the forms of time. For the third chapter, this essay focused on the changes of the subjects of rage.I try to argue that the changes of forms of time is caused by the changes of the subjects of rage. The subjects of rage has changed from noble heroes to the humble mass. With the mutual influences between forms of time and subjects, there emerges a dangerous potential within the subjects of rage, that is,self-desctruction.For the forth chapter, this essay introduced the theory of rage of Martha Nussbaum, the theory of l’abjection of Julia Kristeva.By introducing these two female philosophers into the discussion,I try to find a kind of supply for Sloterdijk’s theory, and then to find a treatment for today’s men in rage.At last, there is a brief conclusion, and a expression of hope, hoping that by the turn from Time to Space,we can finally get closer to the Superman dream of Nietzsche.
