A Study Of The E-C Translation Of Globalization And The Challenges Of Public Administration (Excerpts) From The Perspective Of Communicative Translation Principle

This thesis studies the E-C translation of Globalization and the Challenges of Public Administration: Governance,Human Resources Management,Leadership,Ethics,E-Governance and Sustainability in the 21 st Century.It aims at analyzing the proper translation methods and skills for translating the source text and texts of the same type that emphasizes the purpose of equivalent information exchange and communication.Based on a careful study of the source text which is an information-based text,its translation follows the communicative translation principle proposed by Peter Newmark.Since the communicative translation principle argues that the successful communication between the target readers and the target text should be prioritized over the content or formal equivalence in the process of translation,this principle provides guidelines for the E-C translation of the source text.Under the guidance of the communicative translation principle,the thesis analyzes the translation through focusing on three specific translation strategies,transference,compensation and omission,to explore the effects of these strategies in producing a translation that might accurately and fully convey the original information and thus achieve the purpose of communication.Under the guidance of the principle,this translation achieved better communication and expression between source text and target text.The discovery of the thesis might be applied in the translation of the text of the same type.Public administration is a sector that is of great importance to the stability and prosperity of a country.High quality translation of insightful works that study public administration from English to Chinese will certainly provide a reference for Chinese scholars and public officials.The study of the translation strategies that might produce high quality translation of the texts of public administration,therefore,is necessary and significant.
