Prisoners are a special group, and they are prone to depression in the limited range of activities. If they are not identified and intervened in time, they will easily lead to depression. There are corresponding evidence-based psychological interventions for depression in foreign countries. It is advocated to intervene depression based on scientific research evidence, integrating research evidence provided by scientists, professional skills of interveners, individual characteristics and cultural preference of intervention objects. However,in China, there are few researches on psychological intervention for prisoners’depression, and few studies talk about the evidence-based and scientific research basis. In order to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of evidence-based psychological intervention in China, according to the paradigm of foreign evidence-based psychological intervention,a randomized controlled trial of evidence-based psychological intervention and routine intervention was conducted for male prisoners in a Guangdong Province prison. Objective:To explore whether evidence-based psychological intervention is significantly better than conventional intervention in the intervention of depressed mood of prisoners. Methods:The research on depression intervention of prisoners was searched in major databases, the existing evidence-based guidelines and meta-analysis at domestic and overseas were evaluated and integrated, and the current evidence-based psychological intervention method for depression of prisoners is cognitive behavioral therapy.A total of 1644 male prisoners in a prison in Guangdong Province were screened by the Patient Health Questionnaire-Depression Symptom Group Scale(PHQ-9)and Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS).32 male prisoners with mild to moderate depression were selected, and 20 of them were randomly divided into evidence-based psychological intervention group and routine intervention group with 10 people in each group. The evidence-based psychological intervention group received group cognitive behavioral therapy once a week, while the routine intervention group received routine psychological group counseling once a week for 90minutes each time. After 8 weeks of intervention, the scores of SDS scale and Chinese version of psychological counseling effect evaluation scale(OQ-45.2)before and after intervention were compared between two groups, and the results and process were evaluated. One year after the intervention, the evidence-based psychological intervention group and routine intervention group were followed up.Results:(1)After 8 interventions, there was no significant difference in SDS standard scores before and after the routine intervention group(t=2.01,d=0.56),but significant difference in SDS standard scores before and after the evidence-based psychological intervention group(t=2.66~*,d=0.68).(2)In the process measurement, the total score of OQ-45.2 and the dimension score of disturbing symptoms in the evidence-based psychological intervention group were significantly negatively correlated with the intervention times.Conclusion:(1)Evidence-based psychological intervention can significantly improve the depression of prisoners.(2)The intervention effect of evidence-based psychological intervention on depression of prisoners is significantly better than that of routine intervention. |
