The Embodiment In The Semantic Understanding Of Chinese Action Idioms

According to the theory of embodied cognition,the participation of the corresponding motor brain regions will be involved in the process of action semantic understanding.From the behavioral and ERP levels,this study explores the embodied effects in the semantic understanding of Chinese action idioms.According to the requirements of the experiment,the subjects were asked to complete the semantic judgment task of the Go/No go.From the point of view of behavior experiment,experiment 1 is to explore whether Hebb’s associative learning neuron hypothesis can be verified in understanding Chinese action idioms,and whether the use of different reaction modes produces ACE effects when understanding different action semantics.The experimental results show that the longest response time to understand foot action idioms is found in the two groups of different reaction modes,which accords with Hebb’s associative learning neuron hypothesis.Also,when understanding hand action idioms,the response of hand keystroke response should be significantly faster than that of oral vocal response;similarly,when understanding oral action idioms,The response of oral vocal response should be significantly faster than that of hand keystroke.The action-sentence compatibility effect(ACE effect)shows that the body action used in the reaction is consistent with the understood Chinese idiom,which can promote the semantic understanding process.Experiment 2: From the ERP experiment,the participants studied whether there was the participation of the sensorimotor brain region in the semantic understanding of Chinese action idioms in hand,foot and mouth,and whether there were differences in the brain regions activated by the three kinds of action idioms,which were consistent with the brain regions activated by the action.The results show that the semantic understanding of action idioms has the advantage of left hemisphere.The difference between different action idioms began to appear at 200 ms,and a positive peak appeared about 240 ms.The 350-430 ms,a N400 component related to semantic understanding appeared.The component showed the body effect of semantic understanding of oral action idioms at C5、FC5 points,and the body effect of semantic understanding of hand action idioms at C3、FC3 points.The body effect of hand action and mouth action idioms is verified.
