A Study On The Modeling Language Of Steampunk Character

With the rapid progress of China’s modernization,the growth of the economic market has been accompanied by the rapid development of science and technology,and the types of social materials have achieved further diversification.Consumer groups have been baptized by the explosive growth of information in the information age,their horizons have been expanded,and their aesthetic concepts have also been improved.The universal design style to meet the basic material needs can no longer meet the current market needs.When consumers are aesthetically tired of conservative mainstream design,the emergence of "steampunk" style design on the market undoubtedly fills or satisfies the aesthetic and psychological needs of some people to a certain extent.However,in the sorting and research of steampunk related literature,it is found that there is relatively little research on steampunk character modeling in our country.Based on this,we conduct related research on steampunk style character modeling language.In the process of research,it was discovered that when China combined steampunk styles in character creation,problems such as unclear recognition of steampunk,insufficient feature expression,blind plagiarism,etc.,existed in the expression of modeling language.In order to clarify the design characteristics of character modeling under the steampunk style,this article will study the steampunk character modeling design in the following ways.First of all,the visual effect characteristics of steampunk in film and television animation are studied,and steampunk has three main characteristics in visual performance,namely,gorgeous and complex character modeling,mechanical aesthetics created by emerging technology,and the coordinated development of technology and magic.The principles of punk character modeling design are defined,with the main principles of clarifying the audience,strengthening the character’s iconicity,retro accessories processing and paying attention to details.Finally,it analyzes the design performance of steampunk character modeling in film and television animation cases,and summarizes the commonalities and individual differences in the design language of character modeling under different conditions.Comparing and researching domestic and foreign cases,discovering the problems in domestic steampunk character modeling design,and proposing to combine and innovate local culture with traditional steampunk style to create steampunk character modeling design with Chinese characteristics,and promote Chinese and foreign cultures Communication promotes the innovation and development of Chinese traditional culture.
