Zhang Xuecheng,a famous scholar of literature and history in Qian-jia period of Qing Dynasty,is the author of General meaning of literature and history,Collation of general meaning of literature and history,Textual research of historical records,etc.This paper mainly studies the relationship between Zhang Xuecheng’s teachers and the process of his academic communication,and on the basis of the historical facts,discusses the influence of his teachers and academic communication on the formation of Zhang Xuecheng’s Thoughts on literature and history.The text is mainly divided into three parts.The first part is Zhang Xuecheng’s learning and the influence of his learning on the construction of Zhang Xuecheng’s academic thought.At the age of 14,Zhang Xuecheng was educated by his fellow schoolteacher Wang Hao.At this time,Zhang Xuecheng did not show his obsession with the theory of literature and history.When he was 16 years old,Zhang Xuecheng came to Yingcheng with his father to study poetry and literature and lessons with Ke Shaogeng.At this time,Zhang Xuecheng showed a strong interest in history and a dislike of eight part essay,which laid the foundation for Zhang Xuecheng to play in the world of "spiritual understanding and fine knowledge".When he was 28 years old,he was introduced by his good friend Shen Yefu to Zhu Yun’s shogunate to learn the words and sentences.The second part discusses the academic communication process of Zhang Xuecheng and the ideological differences between Zhang Xuecheng and other scholars in the same period.Among Zhang Xuecheng’s few friends in his life,Shao Jinhan,Wu Lanting,Wang Huizu and Zhou Zhenrong are the most close to each other.Starting from their letters,this paper examines the historical traces of their academic exchanges,and analyzes the impact of their academic exchanges on the formation of Zhang Xuecheng’s academic thoughts.Shao Jinhan,Wu Lanting,Wang Huizu and Zhou Zhenrong are all Zhang Xuecheng’s best friends.Their letters are still frequent,and they mostly discuss the meaning of literature,history and philosophy.Among them,Shao Jinhan and Zhang Xuecheng have the closest relationship,and the letters included in General meaning of literature and histor are also the most abundant.They were Zhu Yun’s disciple until Shao Jinhan died.There friendship lasted 26 years.Although there were some differences in the field of academic research and research methods,their attitude towards academic research showed the characteristics of emphasizing the development of righteousness and reason.Wu Lanting and Zhang Xuecheng also was Zhu Yun’s disciple.They agreed on the history of their essays.There was no polite words in Zhang Xuecheng’s letters to Wu Lanting.It can be seen that they had a good relationship.Wang Huizu and Zhang Xuecheng have been friends for 32 years.Zhang Xuecheng admires Wang Huizu very much and often praises him for his integrity and honesty in his letters.Zhou Zhenrong and Zhang Xuecheng got to know each other through the introduction of a friend,and they were friends at first sight.Zhou Zhenrong not only helps Zhang Xuecheng tide over difficulties in his life,but also discusses with him how to write articles.It can be said that Zhou Zhenrong is one of Zhang Xuecheng’s few friends in his life,and the greatest help to Zhang Xuecheng’s life.Dai Zhen,Wang Zhonghe and Yuan Mei are indispensable friends in Zhang Xuecheng’s academic communication.By analyzing Zhang Xuecheng’s description and evaluation of the three,we can get a glimpse of the internal context of Zhang Xuecheng’s academic thought.Although there is no letter between Dai Zhen and Zhang Xuecheng,it can be seen from Zhang Xuecheng’s works that Dai Zhen has a great influence on Zhang Xuecheng’s academic thought.Wang Zhong and Zhang Xuecheng have a bad relationship because of their "disagreement".Analyzing the reasons for their bad relationship can help us better understand Zhang Xuecheng’s own academic thoughts and have a more comprehensive understanding of Zhang Xuecheng.Zhang Xuecheng’s criticism of Yuan Mei can be said to be the fierce collision of two different literary concepts in the period of Qianlong and Jiaqing.Through the objective analysis of Zhang Xuecheng’s criticism,the essential image of Zhang Xuecheng’s literary concept can be constructed.The third part mainly discusses the influence of teachers’ inheritance on Zhang Xuecheng’s academic thought and the influence of academic friends on the construction of Zhang Xuecheng’s academic thought,and through the comparison and analysis of the ideological differences between Zhang Xuecheng and the scholars of the same period,we can see the process of the academic atmosphere turning in the Qianlong and Jiaqing period.
