Research On The Folk Beliefs And Its Function And Feature In D Village

Folk belief,as a cultural phenomenon rooted in different regional geographical and cultural environments,social and cultural systems,groups’ daily life and livelihood,contains people’s unique understanding and rich connotations of people,events,society and the world.Also folk belief is an important part of Chinese traditional culture.D Village of Yongdeng County is located in the eastern section of Hexi Corridor in northwest China,located in the ecotone of agriculture and animal husbandry in northwest China.Since ancient times,it has been a multi-ethnic flow and settlement area.After a long historical process,it has formed a multi-cultural local folk belief system.The research methods of ethnology and visual anthropology is applied,also some collected research materials and literatures.Through to ethnography image practice about organizational process and ritual performance of D village,this thesis research deeply on folk belief system of D village,then,elucidating its forming elements,classification,generated logic and summarizing its function,effect,feature.Lastly,conclusions are proposed.The thesis also discussed the performance and offset of different subjects,the performance and offset of the ceremonies,the interposer and the interactive relationship between the photographer and the photographer,the effect of the inheritance,evolution of folk beliefs,etc.Through the study,it can be seen that the folk belief system of village D mainly consists of local original folk belief,Buddhist deities,Taoist deities and folk miscellany deities.Although it is somewhat loose,it has some feature including logic,hierarchy and function in the spiritual world of the villagers group.The thesis stated that the folk beliefs provided the field for the national cultural blending,and promoted the formation of strong cultural cohesiveness in the formation of local villages in the process of the belief system construction,which incedentally promoted the formation of the inner life of the country society,and demonstrated the exchange of national culture.
