Virginia Woolf is an English writer and critic from the late 19th century to the middle of the 20th century.She is the author of The Mark on the Wall,Mrs.Dalloway,To the Lighthouse,Orlando:A Biography,The Waves,A Room of One’s Own,Three Guineas and other works.In the past,the academic circles mostly studied Virginia’s works from the perspectives of psychology,feminism,and postcolonialism,etc,but rarely conducted research on Virginia’s works from the perspective of ekphrasis.Based on this,this article uses ekphrasis as the starting point to explore the ekphrasis in Virginia’s novels in order to broaden the horizon of related research.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,the full text is divided into four chapters.The introduction gives a basic introduction to Virginia and her novels.Chapter 1:Sorting out the meaning of ekphrasis in different historical periods,and defining the meaning of ekphrasis in this article.Chapter 2:According to the modeling structure shown in the plot structure of Virginia’s novels,the image structure of Virginia’s novels is divided into cylinders,cones and spheres.Chapter 3:Exploring the profound meaning of the ekphrasis structure of Virginia’s novels-Virginia is affected by the visual mechanism and stimulated by the war environment,and a constantly awakening consciousness of life emerges;Virginia is affected by the British history and culture in a special historical period,reflecting the gender opposition.The premise,the female subjective consciousness with the interaction between the sexes in the public and private spheres as the core and gender equality as the goal;Virginia is influenced by the cosmic time concept marked by the rising of the sun and the setting of the past,the present and the future,and the non-linear time concept of the present Influence,showing the historical consciousness based on the British orthodox history and the daily life of the British.Chapter 4:Exploring the direct and fundamental reasons for Virginia’s practice of language imagery.In the process of accepting the art views of Vanessa,Clive,and Roger,Virginia takes the Western art spirit that combines the spirit of Apollo and Dionysus as Recognize the relationship between the self and the world,and seek the internal driving force for self-positioning.Through the analysis of the above four chapters,it is concluded that Virginia realizes the communication between literature and art on the spiritual level of art through the practice of ekphrasis,and supplements the motivation for the return of art to daily life and the aestheticization of daily life.
