A Study Of The Translation Of Place Names In The Chinese-Uyghur Translation Of "Xi You Ji"

The translation of place names is a very significant field in the whole translation practice.with the development of information technology and media technology,Its role in international exchanges and cultural exchanges,have become even more impotant.Accurate and appropriate translation of relevant place names may facilitate communication between States and peoples and promote their development in a positive direction,while inappropriate translation of place names may also be an obstacle to greater interaction and understanding.Therefore,all along,the study of translating place names and the standardization of place names translation have been paid attention to all over the world.The translation of place names in literary works is an area that can not be ignored in the whole literary translation.Whether the work of translating place names can be done reasonably and effectively will directly affect the quality of literary translation.Therefore,the translation of place names has always been regarded as an important part of the field of literary translation research.This paper analyzes the Uighur translation of place names in the novel "Xi You Ji"from the perspective of translation principles and translation methods.The full text consists following parts:The first Chapter:Introduction part,mainly stated following several contents:the literary review,domestic and foreign research status,the purpose and significance of research,research methods and research ideas.The second chapter:Firstly,the concept and classification method of place names are introduced,and then the types and characteristics of place names in "Xi You Ji " are analyzed comprehensively.The third chapter:introduces the principles and main methods of place names translation,and discusses the Uighur translation of place names in "Xi You Ji" according to the types of administrative area names,natural geographical names,places of residence and architectural place names,and traditional cultural place names.Chapter four:Points out the problems existing in the Uighur translation of place names in " Xi You Ji " and puts forward some suggestions and suggestions on corrective measures.The summary and prospect part puts forward the research difficulties encountered during the research,and a brief summary of this researchAppendix:Includes references,a list of place names that appear in Uyghur,Chinese versions of "Xi Youji ".
