With the development of the times, the progress of science and technology, the improvement of production and the self evolution of capitalist countries, the social conditions of different periods put forward new topics for Marxist philosophy.Alienation theory runs through Marx’s economic analysis and is one of the important foundations of Marx’s philosophical theoretical system.Agger keenly captures the phenomenon of consumption alienation in the new era,and takes it as the starting point to deeply analyze the causes of ecological crisis under the capitalist logic, and combs the internal relationship among consumption, production and ecology. The first part of the paper introduces the current situation of consumer society from the perspective of ecological Marxism from four aspects: historical background, demand, economy and consumer subject. The second part introduces Agger’s study of capital logic from the perspective of consumption alienation.Firstly, the imbalance between private consumption and social production leads to the shift of crisis from production to ecology, and the focus of alienation theory also highlights consumption alienation;Secondly, the internal expansion of industrial production under the capitalist system makes the decisive relationship between production and consumer demand inverted, and production is inevitably overproduced before demand;Thirdly, uncontrolled overproduction leads to ecological crisis in the face of the limitation of ecological environment; Finally,it criticizes capitalist society from three aspects:human nature, economic growth and mode of production, ideology and political system. The third part introduces Agger’s assumption on how to eliminate alienation and move towards green liberation.Change the demand structure through "the dialectics of disillusioned expectation";To coordinate production and life through the "unification of labor and leisure";The problem of overproduction can be solved through decentralized small-scale production;Through the non bureaucratic democratic management of workers,we can overcome the domination of bureaucracy and highly fragmented division of labor on people; In the practice of ecological socialism in North America,it demonstrates the rationality and possibility of combining with populism. In the last part of the paper, the author evaluates Agger’s ecological Marxism, affirms Agger’s profound analysis of the root of ecological crisis and his liberation view of overcoming the binary opposition between labor and freedom, and criticizes the fantasy nature of zero growth of steady-state economic model and the wrong prediction of populism.
