Bing Xin is a female writer with strong literary vitality in the history of Chinese literature in the 20 th century.After the thunder of “May Fourth Movement” shocked her into the literary world,she persisted in the literary field until the last moment of her life.Although the academic circles often focus their research on the two periods of the "May Fourth Movement" and the New Era,the “Seventeen Years” period,which has an important turning point between these two periods,should not be ignored.Bing Xin’s literary activities during the period of “Seventeen Years” were rich and varied,which was closely related to her multiple identities,such as united front object status,family status,and writer status during this period.Regarding the issue of identity as an important breakthrough in the study of Bing Xin’s literary activities during the "Seventeen Years" period,I sorted out the literary activities of different identities,and then thought about the ways and strategies of Bing Xin’s integration into the literary world,which can continuously approach and explore a more three-dimensional and complex image of Bing Xin,also can unearthed Bing Xin’s life wisdom in constructing herself in the cultural transition.This kind of mellow life wisdom actually provides a valuable literary experience for Chinese literature in the 20 th century,that is,facing the changing situation of the times,how do writers adjust themselves to adapt to the new environment,how to endure thousands of tempers in the tide of the times and finally achieve themselves.The paper is divided into three chapters.The introduction part mainly introduces the origin of the topic,research status,research strategy.The first chapter mainly discusses the issue of Bing Xin’s return to China.Based on the relevant materials such as Bing Xin’s Chronicle,Bing Xin’s Letters,Bing Xin’s Commentary and Biography,and Bing Xin’s Complete Biography,combined with my own research,this chapter sorts out the difficult return journey of the female writer Bing Xin,and analyzed that Bing Xin’s strong national identity and career consciousness combined forces to make her resolutely choose to return to the country.This chapter also analyzed the two works "Before Returning to China" and "Empty Nest" created by Bing Xin to explain the problem of returning to China,which not only confirms the reasons for returning to the country analyzed above,but also surpasses his personal experience in "Before Returning".the analysis not only confirms the reasons for returning to the country analyzed above,but also excavates the patriotism of overseas intellectuals written by Bing Xin beyond personal experience in "Before Returning to China" and the consciousness of life embodied in "Empty Nest".The second chapter mainly studies the identity of Bing Xin during the "seventeen years" period,and analyzes Bingxin’s female consciousness in multiple identities.In the“Seventeen Years”,Bing Xin,who was the object of the united front,took her experience in the united front work as her writing material,recovered her identity as a woman writer through persistent creation,and manifested her female independence and career consciousness.Under the family status,Bing Xin became a pillar of the family after her husband,son,and third brother were labeled as rightists.On the other hand,she continued to create and participate in social activities,completing her transition and upgrading from motherhood to social publicity.Although Bing Xin had various identities during the period of “Seventeen Years”,her ideal identity was still a writer.In the end,Bing Xin re-established her identity as a female writer in frequent writing association meetings and a large number of current affairs prose writing.The third chapter mainly studies Bing Xin’s literary activities,analyzes her different behaviors in her creation,criticism and translation activities,explores the strategies behind her integration into the literary world,and reflects on her life wisdom in the adjustment of her creative direction and self-image construction.During the period of“Seventeen Years”,although Bing Xin adopted the survival strategy of self-examination,she created political essays on current affairs to integrate into the literary world.However,as a female writer with artistic pursuits,Bing Xin used her art to play down politics and created highly artistic essays of the era such as "Sakura Praise","A Wooden Clog" and "Sea Love".In the gap between the politics of the times and personal thoughts,Bing Xin cleverly uses literary criticism to show her own artistic self-cultivation as a writer,and expresses her deep desire for “the philosophy of love” through marginalized literary translation activities,which gives people different literary enlightenment.During the period of “Seventeen Years”,Bing Xin adjusted her creative direction to the field of children’s literature which was less influenced by ideology,continued her previous children’s writing,and constructed her own classic image of children’s writer under the joint action of writers,readers and critics.In the concluding part,looking at the life of Bing Xin’s female writer,thinking about the literary activities of the "Seventeen Years" period in the long history of Bing Xin’s role as the "grandmother of the literary world",emphasizing the important significance of the study of literary activities in the "Seventeen Years" period to enriching the image of Bing Xin.In the contrast between Bing Xin and modern writers when they face cultural transitions,and thinking about the different destinies of Bing Xin and Zhang Ailing,Lu Yin,Lin Huiyin,Ding Ling and other female writers,we can appreciate Bing Xin’s mellow wisdom in life and precipitate Bing Xin’s literary activities during the "seventeen years" period provides valuable literary experience for Chinese literature in the 20th century.
