Life Consciousness In Yu Hua’s Novels

Life consciousness is the unique life experience of human beings.It comes from human instinct.The most direct expression is the cognition of life and death.Realizing the inevitability of life and death is an important sign of maturity of life consciousness.Only by being willing to accept the irreversible nature of life can humans adopt a more rational attitude towards life and death.But this kind of objective attitude is inevitably mixed with personal subjective color.As for writers,they exhaust the essence of life and inquire the true meaning of life in their personal life experience.For works,the consciousness of life runs through the beginning and end of literary works,which is not only the charm of artistic works,but also an important standard to measure the superiority of literary works.Yu Hua is one of the best contemporary Chinese writers.In his novels,we can see the various life attitudes of Chinese people when they get along with fate.Based on the author’s personal life experience and aesthetic experience,this paper adopts literature research method and text close reading method to explore the life consciousness and aesthetic value in Yu Hua’s novels as a whole.The first chapter mainly discusses the formation reasons of Yu Hua’s life consciousness from three levels.First of all,it analyzes the influence of the turbulence of The Times on Yu Hua’s initial experience of life,and he is keen to show his unrestrained barbarity when his life desire erupts.Secondly,the medical family environment not only provides realistic material for Yu Hua’s novel creation,but also enables him to maintain a doctor’s indifferent attitude and a sober examination of human life when describing life and death scenes.Thirdly,from the perspective of the influence of Chinese and Western cultures on Yu Hua,this paper discusses the "free rebellion" and "submissive survival" in Yu Hua’s view of life.The second chapter defines Yu Hua’s view of life,that is,the strong instinctive resistance to the absurd fate.Then from the two dimensions of polarized characters and complicated life and death picture,the paper summarizes the specific presentation of Yu Hua’s view of life.The existence of crazy people reveals the charm of the wild life,and also contains their reflection on the memory of the Cultural Revolution and their criticism on the atrophy morality in modern society.The people at the bottom who have experienced suffering show the simple and tenacious quality in the instinct vitality.The beginning and the end form the tension of life in Yu Hua’s writing and combine the striking artistic charm.The third chapter explore the life consciousness in Yu Hua’s novels from the Angle of artistic expression.The zero-degree writing attitude towards bloody and violent scenes makes Yu Hua’s novels show a relaxed rhythm of life.The creation process of digging the complete spiritual essence in the folktales is more and more practiced in its strange and concise life words.The aesthetic view of equal treatment of beauty and ugliness makes her novels compatible with richer life scenes.The fourth chapter defines the unique aesthetic meaning of life consciousness in Yu Hua’s novels as a whole,that is,the masculinity of wild life and the pure natural environment of affection.In the context of contemporary culture,he constructs a bridge connecting the Chinese and western modern life,but there are also some problems,such as the lack of refined material treatment and the vague theme of life.
