Guan Naizhong’s Second Erhu Concerto "Nostalgic Dream in Peking" is a large-scale Erhu Concerto,composed in 2002.There are four movements in the work,with the theme of "Spring,Summer Night," "Golden Autumn," and "New Year’s Eve",depicting old Beijing in the four seasons of spring,summer,autumn and winter.This piece of music has been passed down in pairs.Traditional Chinese music elements are combined with Western composing techniques.The author will integrate Peking opera elements into his works,bringing people an auditory feast in the perfect interweaving of erhu and symphony orchestra.The author studied the work during graduate school,and gained a deep understanding and experience of the work by watching famous live concerts,online videos,and consulting related documents,etc.,focusing on the use of literature research methods,combined with his own performance practice,through excavation the use and interpretation of the elements of Peking opera in the work can help the performer better understand the work and make a second creation,and improve his professionalism.The discussion is divided into three chapters: Chapter One introduces the composer and the creative background of the work;The second chapter explores the use of Peking opera elements such as rhyme scheme of Beijing opera,transition and plate style,and Jinghu techniques in the works.The third chapter analyzes the performance techniques of pitch glide,String-kneading,fast jump and natural bow jump in the work.
