| Vocabulary accumulation plays an important role in English learning.Effective English vocabulary teaching has been troubling English educators and learners.In the process of English vocabulary teaching in primary school,students generally respond that they need to spend a long time memorizing vocabulary,but it is easy to forget.In the long run,some students not only have poor learning effect,but also lose interest in learning English.Therefore,how to apply effective means to solve these problems has always been the concern of English teachers and researchers.According to the current situation of English vocabulary teaching and students’ problem,the researcher puts forward two research questions:(1)What are the effects of the application of mind mapping on students’ vocabulary learning achievements?(2)What are the changes of students’ interests and attitudes to vocabulary learning after the application of mind mapping? A experimental study of mind mapping was conducted in Benxi County Gaoguan Nine-year School.This study selected students from Class 1 and Class 2 in Grade 6.There was no obvious difference between the two classes on the basis of vocabulary.Mind mapping was used in Class1 to teach vocabulary,and traditional teaching method was adopted in Class2.The experiment lasted 16 weeks from September to December 2020.In order to ensure the reliability and validity of the experiment,this study adopted the methods of test,questionnaire and interview.This study used tests to test the foundation and effect of students’ learning.In addition,questionnaires and interviews are used to investigate students’-attitudes and interests towards English vocabulary teaching.Through the 16-week vocabulary teaching experiment on mind mapping,this study has obtained two important findings :(1)Mind mapping can improve the effect of students’ learning English vocabulary,and improve their English learning performance.(2)Students’ attitude toward English vocabulary learning has changed,and they become more interested in learning.The use of mind mapping can effectively mobilize students’ participation,and students begin to enjoy learning English vocabulary. |
