This paper mainly selects the city of Datong(present-day Datong,Shanxi Province)since the Ming and Qing dynasties as a case study,and uses the research method of historical urban morphology to deepen the research on the restoration of the physical plan of Datong since the Ming and Qing dynasties by comparing the relevant documents and tracing them and restoring them on the map in a more detailed way.In the first part of this paper,the historical history of Datong is sorted out on the basis of previous researches,and the development of the city is clarified,from which the relevant information on the changes of urban construction is summarized and analyzed.In the second part,based on the information from the archives and the modern measured maps,tracing and restoring the different patterns of Datong city in the three periods of the Republic of China,Qing Dynasty and Ming Dynasty along the time line from the present and the ancient times and restoring its historical features.The specific method is to make a comprehensive and detailed reconstruction of Datong City from the Ming and Qing Dynasties to the Republic of China,so as to tease out the development and changes of Datong Ancient City in the historical period.Finally,the above research is synthesized to analyze the characteristics of the changing urban form of Datong,and puts forward relevant suggestions for the protection of the specific historical landscape in modern Datong city.Through the above analysis,it is observed that the development of the ancient city of Datong from the Ming and Qing dynasties to the Republic of China is clear,and through the more detailed restoration on the map,it is clear that the restoration of some of the ancient buildings in the ancient city of Datong nowadays is not fully in accordance with the historical facts,but weakens the authenticity of the restored ancient buildings,thus adversely affecting the restoration of the ancient city as a whole,and the city managers and builders should promptly City managers and builders should reflect on and correct this phenomenon in order to maintain a dynamic balance between the preservation and development of the ancient city. |
